Senior Project Coordinator- Global Fund

The Role Summary:

The position holder will oversee implementation of activities in the TB Management Units (TBMUs) under World Visions Global Fund TB Program. S/he will support the Senior Program Manager in provision of operational and technical support to ensure quality implementation and local capacity development in the region for effective implementation.  The job holder will provide the needed linkage to Sub Recipients (SRs), ensuring that they are adequately supported and issues appropriately escalated for timely address. S/he will be responsible for timely submission of quarterly reports from the TBMUs, conduct regular supervision and on job training to TBMUs and sub recipients as required. S/he will ensure the TBMUs implement TB services in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) agreed protocols and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership to PAL (Practical Approach to Lung Health and PPM (Private Public Mix) teams in the field.
  • Regularly monitor PAL and PPM programs to ensure high quality implementation, and reporting.
  • Work with PAL, PPM and ACSM field teams and with other programs (GAVI, Joint Health and Nutrition Program etc.) to promote effective integration of TB interventions into the Primary Health Care and general health sector.
  • Ensure establishment and maintenance of data for all (Multi Drug Resistant) MDR-TB clinical activities.
  • Provide oversite to activities of the various MDR-TB management facilities
  • Participate in Zonal quarterly review meetings and represent (World Vision Somalia) WVS as required
  • Coordinate visits to the TBMUs and review missions as required. Such missions may include, WVS staff, Ministry of Health (MoH), WHO, Local Funding Agent, Global Fund, Consultants, etc.;
  • Attend and contribute in program coordination and network meetings at Zonal level and international levels as required;
  • On quarterly basis, draft stories of “integration success” in support fund-raising and marketing efforts;
  • Participate in the processes for works for the TBMUs as required. Such processes may among other things include periodic assessment of physical infrastructure of the TBMUs.
  • Coordinate Sputum movement from the sate light sites to the Genexpert sites with support of the Contractor and regularly with support of M&E officer, do analysis of the samples moved in collaboration with WHO, NTP and SRs
  • Case notification and treatment outcomes data form the TBMUs are compiled and timely submitted on quarterly basis
  • Monthly and quarterly narrative reports are submitted to the SPM and M&E/QA Manager
  • Activity tracking report developed and submitted to the M&E on monthly and the GF TB manager and the Area Manager on monthly basis

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant medical field (Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Microbiology etc.).
  • At least 3 years of project management experience with extensive government engagement experience.
  • Knowledge and working experience in the field of Public Health.
  • Past experience working in TB and HIV / AIDS program preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills; keen attention to detail with an analytic approach to work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with beneficiaries, health authorities and other partners.
  • Ability to pro-actively identify quality challenges to the delivery of services and formulate solutions.
  • Ability to integrate TB Program with other health services to maximize case detection, prevention, patient care & support as well as reducing stigma.
  • Good collaboration skills in working with stakeholders in implementing the TB program.
  • Cross – cultural sensitivity and flexibility.

Working Environment

  • The position will be field based in Baidoa, Southwest State with frequent travel to the field
